  • Answer the main question above the fold - No scrolling for key insights. If users need to scroll to see whether they have a problem, you've failed.
  • Have obvious next steps - Drill-down paths that make sense. Filters that don't require a manual. Actions users can take based on what they see.
  • Update automatically - Manual refresh = guaranteed abandonment. If users need to click "refresh" to see current data, they won't bother.
  • Look good on mobile - Not an afterthought. Design mobile-first, expand for desktop.
